“We will continue to invest with our sustainable growth strategy”

Commenting on the financial results, Oba Makarna CEO Alpaslan Özgüçlü said, “Thanks to the efforts of more than 1,200 employees and our investments, we completed 2023 with a successful result with our increasing production volume, exports and sales revenues. Despite the rebalanced customer distribution in pasta, the increase in our wheat exports along with our flour and noodle sales enabled us to achieve a 12 percent growth in our turnover. With our sustainable and profitable growth target, accurate pricing and strategic cost management, we realized a significant improvement in EBITDA margin. With the increase in our operational profitability, we achieved a transition to net profit in 2023. Our balance sheet continues to strengthen with the proceeds from our public offering, which we successfully completed in February.”

Emphasizing that they bring Turkish pasta to the tables of the world, Özgüçlü said, “We export to more than 100 countries in 6 continents. As Oba Makarna, we realize 25 percent of the pasta production in our country and we have a share of approximately 30 percent in Turkey's pasta exports. In line with our sustainable growth strategy, we will continue to increase our share in the international market and evaluate investment opportunities while maintaining our leadership in Turkey. At the same time, we will distribute at least 10 percent of the distributable net profit for the period to all shareholders. We will decide on the distribution rate at the first general assembly to be held.”
